Phillip Gregson

Phillip Gregson is a fourth-generation master wheelwright based in Lancashire, building and repairing traditional wooden wheels for museums, heritage sites, and film and television. A Yeoman of the Worshipful Company of Wheelwrights and a Churchill Fellow, he is one of the last active practitioners of his craft, appearing regularly in shows and programmes around the world, including BBC television’s Countryfile.

Gregson is currently at work, with co-author Simon Ings, on a book titled The Heart of the Wheel: A Wheelwright’s 5,000-year Tale of Craftsmanship and Engineering, to be published in 2027 by Oneworld (World English).
