Geoff Gibson

Geoff Gibson is a geographer and creator of the popular YouTube channel ‘Geography by Geoff’, where he creates weekly videos that show geography’s impact on the way our world works. To date, ‘Geography by Geoff’ has more than 700,000 subscribers and over 125 million views. He also co-hosts the podcast ‘Geography is Everything’ and was a lead contributor to the book Upper Left Cities: A Cultural Atlas of San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle. He has a BA in geography and a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from Portland State University, where he is now an instructor in geography.

Gibson is currently at work on a book titled Bad Lands: Exploring the World’s Worst Cities (Geographically Speaking), to be published in 2027 by DK (World English).
